Controlling diet in which there is not much consumption of any form of Sodium and also avoiding alcohol are the primary methods to cure this condition. Prior vaccination of Hepatitis B and C can also be effective to prevent the development of this disease.

Medication:
Doctors may prescribe beta blockers, banding procedures, intravenous antibiotics, hemodialysis, lactulose and a low protein diet. The last resort to cure this condition could be a liver transplant.
