An incomplete abortion is a miscarriage in which some fetal or placental tissue remains in the uterus.

Prolonged and heavy bleeding more than a regular period.

Abdominal cramps that become unbearable with fever.

Treatment:

Self-care: Avoid tampons or menstrual cups. Use sanitary napkins or period underwear. Heat compress to get relief from cramps and rest.

Medications/Procedures: Vacuum aspiration or ‘curettage’. Surgical abortion. Painkillers for cramps. The effective treatment for incomplete abortion is Misoprostol.
